BSO are an online business selling over 40,000 products to trade and consumer markets all over the UK. So they are basically an online version of your local builders merchant or DIY store, they sell everything you can possibly need to build, improve or redecorate your home or building.
I was introduced to BSO in June of 2019 as their biggest tile supplier had gone bump leaving them with a gaping hole in their product offer and turnover. This tile supplier just happened to be the one I had worked for so I was pretty well placed to help them out. Because they sell so many product ranges they were struggling to find the time to commit to getting their range back to what their customers wanted so contracted me to do it for them.
I started by analysing their previous sales data and the market data that I had available to me to establish what their ideal range should consist of, taking some of their existing products forward and figuring out what type of tiles we needed to source to ensure they had the range their customers wanted to buy.
I then engaged with three suppliers on their behalf and worked with each of them to get the balance of product and the pricing right before providing sales projections and profit forecasts as well as suggestions on what product should be stocked at their warehouse and what should remain in stock with the suppliers for direct delivery therefore giving a cost of investment to bring in the range.
Finally, once the range was agreed, I worked with the chosen supplier to ensure all the information required to market the product on the BSO website was provided including good lifestyle imagery, aspirational copy and all the tile USPs and pricing.
This project spanned over 2-3 months and cost approximately £6.5k and gave BSO a commercial range of tiles that would stand the test of time and be relevant to their customer for years to come.
Here is what the client had to say………
“I can heartily recommend Jayne and her work. I had the pleasure of working briefly with Jayne in my previous employment where she put together a comprehensive range of tiles across a number of suppliers to modernise the range. Communication of project progress and working to deadlines was first class all the way”
